Hampshire Grain is made
up of two plants on one
site. A 30,000 tonne store
and a 26,000 tonne extension.
The site is able to cope
with a harvest intake
in excess of 2,000 tones
per day.
Collection
and storage -At
harvest a phone call to
the store means that crops
are collected from the
member's farm soon after
combining, and hauled
to Micheldever. All loads
are sampled, weighed and
analysed for all relevant
criteria, in the store's
own independent on-site
laboratory.
Pooling
- All
grain entering the store
is pooled and stored based
on quality and variety.
The store regularly has
over 30 pools operating
allowing the store to
meet the needs of individual
farmers.
Marketing
- Members
have the choice of entering
grain into the Hampshire
Grain Pools, marketed
by our agents Grainfarmers,
or marketing the grain
themselves either through
Grainfarmers, or if they
choose, a third party
merchant. Members entering
grain in the Hampshire
Grain Pools benefit from
flexible cash flow facilities
through advance payments.
Quality Assurance
- Hampshire
grain has been at the
forefront of Quality assurance
schemes. Legislation regarding
pesticide residues and
new legislation proposed
on Micro-Toxin levels
are easily monitored.
